Storm Provisions
thedept:
If anyone in the Prospect Heights/Park Slope area needs anything, the Key Food on Flatbush near Sterling is open, pretty empty and very well stocked, including things like batteries (though not a huge selection), candles and bottled water.
Also, still plenty of quality craft beer selection remains.

Who knows if Patrick Stewart is moving to Park Slope, Brooklyn - but here’s a tumblr about it anyway.
Actor Patrick Stewart has moved to Park Slope, according to a tipster. We won’t say where exactly the captain of the Starship Enterprise is moving (we wouldn’t want to get phasered for blowing his cover) but let’s just say there’s plenty of bedrooms in case a few mutants stop by for a stay as well as a large outdoor space from which to practice his Shakespearean soliloquies. At over $2 million, the price tag was also very Hollywood.
Good awnings make good neighbors. Thanks, Flipster’s.

In Brooklyn Brownstone, Future President Found a Home on the Top Floor - NYTimes.com By James Barron and Peter Baker; Photo © Michael Nagle for The New York Times May 2, 2012
The fact that Mr. Obama and his girlfriend at the time lived on the top floor in the mid-1980s was news on Second Street in Park Slope, Brooklyn, where the 109-year-old house is one in a handsome line of homes stretching toward Eighth Avenue … Roscoe Robinson, who now shares the top floor of the house with his brother, had not heard about it until a reporter rang the doorbell and showed him a printout of the excerpt.
“You’re kidding,” Mr. Robinson, 21, said.
The revelation … would add to Prospect Park’s claim that a future president used to run there.
